Meditation Prompt: Dragonfly busy

This is the fourth in my ongoing series “Meditation Prompts.” When I place myself outdoors in a beautiful setting, my mind quiets down. Thanks to John Selby’s brilliant little book on meditation, Seven Masters, One Path, I learned that when we ask the mind to focus on two or more physical sensations simultaneously, the mind becomes the observer rather than the opinionator. When I am outdoors, there is so much diversity of color, sound, motion, and pattern that my mind enthusiastically takes on the role of focused observation. It steps out of its habit of creating drama and quiets down which ultimately allows it to become a clearer and more honest participant in my wholeness.

Prompt: Where do I find joy and delight in the midst of so much busy-ness? (And a reminder to breathe!)
